Overview
At Soho House, a Polisher thrives in fast‑paced and high‑volume environments that require efficient and careful cleaning, polishing and storage of glassware used at Soho House. The Polisher collaborates with the kitchen and bar team to support Front of House (FOH) operations. Partnering with the Porter and Dishwasher team a Polisher is meticulous and has a keen eye for detail to ensure crystal clear appearance of all glassware.
A successful Polisher plays a crucial role in maintaining a sanitary and clean experience for members and guests that enforces increased customer satisfaction, reduces the number of spotty glasses, and adds an attractive, polished appeal to the glassware selection.
Main Duties
Partner with Porters and dishwashers to inspect glassware after washing and sanitizing, remove imperfections and water spots, and support the FOH team with glassware for service.
Adhere to health and safety guidelines by following company policies, procedures, and local, state, and federal law, and dispose of any broken or defective glassware to maintain safety.
Clean and polish all silverware, stemware, flatware, and bar glassware.
Collaborate with barbacks and housekeeping to restock glassware and silverware for all bars and minibars.
Communicate effectively with all team members to uphold the highest standards of member and guest experience.
Support bartenders in wiping down bottles, cleaning, and maintaining the bar.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Minimum 1+ year of experience.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Detail‑oriented and thrives in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
Keen eye for detail and pursuit of perfection, even if it requires repetitive tasks.
Basic verbal communication skills.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
Fast‑paced movements are required to move from one part of the club to others.
Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 40 pounds.
Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.
