Job Description The Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC) seeks a Resilience Outreach Specialist. The role requires knowledge of climate adaptation and coastal management issues, proficiency in public engagement, and the ability to support the HRPDC Coastal Resiliency Program in public outreach, education, and training on coastal resilience, floodplain management, and related issues.

The Coastal Resiliency Program identifies and implements regional priorities for research, analysis, and policy development on resiliency and climate adaptation to support local government planning and implementation efforts. The Resilience Outreach Specialist will coordinate flood insurance promotion and flood‑risk education outreach, and will identify, develop, and implement new resilience‑related activities and programs.

Applicants must develop and manage a comprehensive outreach and engagement program, including audience identification, development of outreach materials (digital and print media), stakeholder and partner engagement, and program management.
