Soho House is seeking an interior designer to join its Soho Home team in New York.
The role At Soho House, the interior designer will play an integral role in building our bespoke Soho Home Design consultation service based in our new Los Angeles studio. They will work with walk-in and virtual appointment requested clients to ensure that Soho Home not only meets but exceeds their design expectations. The interior designer is pivotal in educating both clients and team members on all aspects of the home collections.
Main duties:
build and nurture strong relationships with both new and existing Soho Home clients
lead in-store and virtual design consultations, identifying client needs and translating them into designs and product recommendations
develop customized design proposals, including CAD layouts and curated mood boards, that seamlessly integrate furniture and décor solutions
deliver expert design advice while confidently promoting products, ensuring clients feel supported in making informed purchasing decisions for their homes
manage the full client journey from first interaction through to final delivery, including sales processing, order coordination, and logistics oversight
consistently embody and communicate the brand’s aesthetic and values across all client interactions and design projects
maintain a strong passion for interiors, continuously building product knowledge to position yourself as a trusted authority in both design and retail offerings
uphold high visual merchandising standards across the studio, ensuring displays inspire customers
plan and host engaging design workshops, events, and client experiences in collaboration with the events team to drive brand engagement and sales
carry out additional responsibilities as needed to support store operations and business goals
Required skills/qualifications:
minimum two plus years’ experience within a design firm or furniture retail brand
interior design degree level qualification – BA
proficient user of AutoCAD, Adobe Indesign, photoshop and Microsoft office suite
excellent written and verbal communication skills
highly organized with a natural flair for design and creativity
passionate in people and maintaining relationships
results oriented
weekend work may be required
Physical requirements:
must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands
must be able to work on your feet for at least eight hours
must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 50 pounds
occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required
