Sr Project Interior Designer

Your Role Sr. Interior Designer: visionary designer with a passion for sharing knowledge, transforming spaces and creating stunning environments. Collaborate, innovate, work with clients and teams to bring exceptional designs to life. Responsible for interpreting, organizing, and executing the conceptual design of projects, ensuring each design is functional and beautiful.

Your responsibilities:

Design Lead: Leads design efforts in all phases, supports team members, implements HOK Standards.

Client Relations: Maintains positive relationships, informs clients of progress.

Team Collaboration: Facilitates communication with other disciplines, vendors, contractors.

Mentorship & Development: Mentors emerging staff, participates in "Lessons Learned", contributes to performance evaluations, may participate in interviews and recruiting.

Client Presentations: Prepares & conducts presentations to clients.

Communication: Clear verbal and written skills.

Critical Thinking: Addresses and resolves design and construction issues.

Adaptability: Flexible to changing project requirements and client needs.

Programming and Space Planning: Conducts programming, space planning, layout.

Concept Development: Develops innovative design concepts practical, aesthetic, safe, within budget and client goals.

Visualization: Renders conceptual design ideas, creates 2D and 3D presentations.

Color Theory: Coordinates color palettes and materials.

Documentation: Prepares, corrects, updates design documents across all phases.

Time Management: Keeps project or phase on schedule, manages multiple tasks.

Budgeting: Estimates material requirements, preliminary costs accurately.

Design Software Proficiency: Expertise in SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite.

Code Knowledge: Reviews documents for building codes and ADA compliance.

Material Knowledge: Understanding of materials, durability, finishes, furnishings; supports Construction Administration.

Sustainable Design: Knowledge of sustainable principles, fosters green workplace practices.

Required education and experience

Bachelor's degree in architecture, interior design or equivalent.

7+ years experience in interior workplace projects.

Project size 30,000 SF plus.

Professional Interior Designer with passed NCIDQ exam or registered Architect with current license.

NCARB registration preferred if registered architect.

LEED credential requested within 12 months of employment.

Other details

Travel will be required.

Overtime will be required.

Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, education and location. The reasonably expected annual salary range for this position in Washington D.C. is $95,000-$120,000.
