Role Description
This is a full-time News Reporter position located on-site in Decatur, Illinois. The News Reporter will be responsible for investigating and delivering timely news stories, covering local and regional events, and producing compelling content for live broadcasts, online platforms, and social media. Daily tasks include conducting interviews, conducting thorough research, crafting accurate and engaging news reports, and ensuring the highest standards of journalistic integrity. Collaboration with anchors, editors, and producers is required to meet editorial and production deadlines.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Reporting and Journalism, with the ability to research and present accurate and engaging stories
Proficiency in News Writing and Writing, with attention to clarity, accuracy, and audience engagement
Experience creating and distributing Press Releases, ensuring professionalism and adherence to industry standards
Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and collaborate in a fast-paced newsroom environment
Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
Familiarity with multimedia journalism, including digital platforms, is a plus
Flexibility to work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
