General Description
The Director of Clean Energy Planning and Analytics leads the Division of Clean Energy, managing teams that develop programs, budgets, procurement, analytics, and reporting for the Board’s energy initiatives.
Work Responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the Planning and Analytics teams, ensuring business continuity, staff engagement, and quality assurance of policy development and program implementation.
- Coordinate with other Directors to support senior management and advise Commissioners and policymakers on critical initiatives.
- Lead teams that advance policies through the Board’s agenda process, design analytics and reporting, manage state energy services, and oversee budget and procurement.
- Liaise with utilities, external partners, state agencies, community members, and groups to develop programs and engage stakeholders.
- Represent the BPU at local, regional, and national conferences and panel engagements.
- Make recommendations on program design and administration to the Executive Director and Commissioners.
- Brief Commissioners on relevant matters and present at Board meetings as needed.
- Collaborate with agency and partner agencies to advance the Board’s goals and ensure effective outreach on program development.
- Supervise the team that manages the economic and financial aspects of the Division, including program metrics and budget processes.
- Oversee economic benefits, energy market analysis, and business aspects of large‑scale energy projects while aligning with Board strategy and commitments.
- Lead efforts to design and develop innovative and equitable rate designs, collaborating with stakeholders and complex teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in government, energy, business, or regulatory oversight.
- Knowledge of the renewable energy industry, environmental protection, and sustainability issues is preferred.
