We're hiring a Director, Total Rewards on behalf of a commercial real estate company headquartered in San Diego. This is a strategic leadership role sitting on the People & Culture leadership team and reporting directly to the Chief People Officer. The Role

You’ll lead compensation strategy, incentive program design, and HR technology for a high‑performing, fast‑moving organization. You’ll have direct access to the CPO and senior leadership, and your work will have a tangible impact on how the company attracts and retains top talent.

What You’ll Do

Compensation & Total Rewards

  • Design and manage competitive, equitable compensation structures across the organization
  • Lead the annual total rewards cycle — benchmarking, job evaluation, pay equity
  • Develop and administer short‑ and long‑term incentive programs
  • Deliver compensation insights and reporting to leadership
  • Ensure compliance with FLSA, ADA, and applicable employment law

HR Technology

  • Own the HR technology roadmap and drive platform optimization
  • Partner on HRIS administration, integrations, and data integrity
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to improve workflows and AI‑enabled efficiencies

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years in HR; 3+ years leading compensation and HRIS functions
  • Deep expertise in comp program design, pay structures, and incentive administration
  • Strong HRIS platform experience (UKG, Workday, or similar)
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Background in commercial real estate, financial services, or life sciences a plus
  • Bachelor's degree required; CCP, SHRM‑SCP, or HRIS certifications a plus
