Henderson Drake is supporting the growth of a high-performing accounting advisory practice that partners with a broad range of businesses across the U.S., from fast-scaling private organisations to large public companies navigating complex financial events.
As the team continues to expand, they are looking to appoint an Accounting Advisory Director to lead engagements and support the development of the practice across the West Coast.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex accounting challenges, advising executive stakeholders, and leading teams through high-value engagements.
What you will be doing
Lead accounting advisory engagements across technical accounting, financial reporting, and transaction-related matters
Support clients through IPO readiness, acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs, and other strategic events
Provide technical guidance on US GAAP, SEC reporting, and complex accounting matters
Review technical accounting memos, position papers, and client deliverables
Act as a senior point of contact for clients, auditors, and key stakeholders
Lead and mentor Managers, Senior Managers, and delivery teams across multiple engagements
Contribute to business development, account expansion, and strategic client growth
Support the ongoing development of the accounting advisory practice and team capability
What you will bring
8+ years of experience in public accounting, accounting advisory, or transaction advisory
CPA qualification required
Strong expertise in US GAAP and financial reporting standards
Experience advising senior finance stakeholders on complex accounting matters
Ability to lead multiple concurrent engagements in a client-facing environment
Proven people leadership and mentoring capability
Commercial awareness with experience supporting client growth initiatives
