About the Role
The Benefits Specialist serves as a key operational and client-facing support partner, ensuring seamless service delivery and high client satisfaction.
This role is responsible for preparing and managing client communications, maintaining accurate account documentation, supporting open enrollment initiatives, and coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
Responsibilities
Client Action Log Management:
Maintain accurate records of account activities and track action items for accountability.
Client Folder Organization and Management:
Organize and manage client folders to ensure quick access to relevant documents and information.
Open Enrollment Preparation and Presentation:
Assist in preparing and peer reviewing Open Enrollment meetings materials and deliverables.
Claims Issue Resolution:
Assist in addressing and resolve escalated claims and billing issues to ensure client satisfaction and timely resolution.
Vendor Implementation and Calls:
Assists Senior Benefits Specialist or Benefits Consultant with vendor implementation processes and participate in calls to manage expectations and progress.
RFP Buildout and Marketing Submission:
Assists Senior Benefits Specialist or Benefits Consultant in Developing RFPs and coordinate marketing submissions for new and renewal business opportunities.
Client Spotlight Profile and Maintenance:
Maintain up-to-date benefits spotlight portal for clients to ensure accuracy.
Assist Consultants with Client Deliverables:
Provide support to consultants in the preparation and delivery of client materials.
Meeting Preparation and Printing:
Prepare and print documents for client and internal meetings.
BAM (Benefit Account Management System) System:
Maintain the Benefit Account Management System to ensure information is current and accurate.
Document Review and Preparation:
Review and prepare documents to ensure they meet quality and compliance standards.
Assists with Marketing Communication Needs:
Support the development and maintenance of the marketing communication needs. This includes but is not limited to planning ongoing annual communication needs, open enrollment communications, contribution of content and peer review for final deliverables.
Assists with Internal IO Audit Preparation:
Assist in preparing necessary documents and information for audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Qualifications

1-3+ years’ experience with a thorough understanding and knowledge of employee benefits within a insurance brokerage
Must obtain and maintain active Life/Accident and Health Insurance Agent License within one year of employment.
Bachelor’s Degree in related industry preferred and/or equivalent experience.
Basic knowledge of compliance and regulations in the benefits arena.
Proficient with MS Office Suite.
Microsoft Excel – Strong level skills.
Strong analytical and critical thinking ability.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and exercise judgement.
Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Demonstrates a sense of urgency and a proactive approach to meeting client service needs.
This position may require routine or periodic travel which may require the teammate to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle. If required, acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are requirements of this position.
