Position Overview
HYBE America is seeking a highly strategic and execution-focused Director of Intellectual Property (IP) to support the growth and expansion of our IP portfolio. This role is critical to driving new business opportunities, supporting complex deal processes, and ensuring seamless collaboration across global teams—particularly with our Korea-based counterparts.
The ideal candidate brings a unique blend of business acumen, analytical rigor, and storytelling ability. They are equally comfortable building executive-level presentations, navigating negotiations with top-tier partners, and driving cross-functional initiatives forward with precision and urgency.
This is a full-time, hybrid role based in our Santa Monica office, with in-person collaboration 3 days per week and remote work 2 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Support & Business Development
Partner closely with the Chief IP Officer to support the end-to-end deal process for new IP opportunities
Assist in structuring, evaluating, and negotiating partnerships with major third parties (e.g., streaming platforms like Netflix)
Develop business cases, financial models, and strategic frameworks to inform decision-making
Strategic Planning & Executive Communication
Build high-impact presentations and materials for senior leadership and key stakeholders
Synthesize complex information into clear, compelling narratives and recommendations
Prepare briefing materials and lead presentations for internal and external audiences
Project Management & Execution
Drive cross-functional IP initiatives from concept through execution
Ensure projects remain on track by proactively identifying risks, removing roadblocks, and following up with stakeholders
Establish and maintain organized workflows, timelines, and documentation
Global Collaboration
Partner closely with teams in Korea and other international markets to align on IP strategy and execution
Navigate cultural nuances and communication styles to ensure effective collaboration across regions
Cross-Functional Leadership
Collaborate with internal teams including content, legal, finance, marketing, and partnerships
Foster a highly collaborative, solutions-oriented environment across functions
Qualifications
5–8+ years of experience in entertainment, media, IP development, strategy, consulting, or a related field
Proven experience supporting or leading complex deal processes and negotiations
Strong understanding of the IP landscape, including content development, licensing, and distribution
Exceptional analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Advanced proficiency in building executive-level presentations (PowerPoint/Keynote)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Experience working across global teams; familiarity with Korean business culture is a strong plus
Highly proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through

Salary Range
The salary range for this job is $110,000 to $150,000. This is a good faith effort at the time of posting. This range is base salary only and does not include benefits and any other compensatory components of the role.
