Position Overview
Exact Sciences' Customer & Digital Experience (CDX) team is responsible for defining, driving, and delivering innovative, immersive, memorable customer‑centric journeys for all our customers across digital and physical channels. These journeys are grouped by Customer Types (e.g., Patient, Provider) and further categorized into a set of Experiences (e.g., Understand Risks & Complete Screening, Confirm Diagnosis). Each Experience has a set of specific, measurable Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) that the overall team is accountable to fulfill.
The Content Strategist works with a team of CDX researchers, UX designers, strategists, and copywriters to create and drive an end‑to‑end content solution and optimization. Responsibilities include collaborating with the CDX Research team to learn about current content trends and target audiences, participating in meetings with management and team members to identify business objectives and learn more about company products, analyzing and synthesizing information, and creating strategies to meet those objectives within a given time frame. The strategist will help drive the content vision and strategy and deliver intuitive, simple, and thoughtful content strategies that guide a user through the experience. They balance quantitative and qualitative feedback while maintaining empathy and keeping the user at the center of everything they create.
A portfolio of work that demonstrates an ability to communicate complex ideas and terminology through simple, engaging content experiences (hierarchies, content relationships, types, metadata, and schemas) is expected. Experience collaborating with key stakeholders and legal reviewers, confidence leading work and collaborating with writers outside the team are required.
Essential Duties
Work with the product, UX, legal review, and delivery teams to produce insightful content strategy plans, taxonomies, tagging strategies, content maps/matrices, and shepherd content through governance processes.
Research current developments in search engine optimization, content trends, and consumer behavior.
Ensure quality and consistency across content.
Support writing, editing, testing, and improvement of content that makes our products and experiences easier to use across Exact Sciences products.
Audit experiences to understand and assess the content and provide strategic recommendations for improvement.
Facilitate collaboration and influence design decisions with product, UX, development, copywriting, and stakeholders.
Create inclusive content strategies that foster a welcoming environment regardless of background, sexual orientation, gender expression, religion, or ethnicity, and model these behaviors.
Document content and approvals according to established processes.
Create process and policy documents, including governance guides.
Help facilitate design sessions, ideation, product design reviews, and appropriate sprint ceremonies and processes.
Understand and prioritize problems, opportunities, and solutions that contribute to the product roadmap, strategy, and vision leveraging data, research, industry trends, and BU objectives.
Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
Effectively manage legal reviews and feedback cycles.
Travel Requirements: Ability to travel 5‑10% of working time away from the work location, may include overnight or weekend travel.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Design, Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field; or high school degree with 3+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
3+ years of experience in UX writing, content design, and content strategy.
Experience in Figma, Miro, and other design tools for editing and contributing to designs and content.
Experience simplifying and communicating complex ideas to broad audiences.
Experience managing a content creation process from strategy to final delivery.
Experience creating information architecture for complex products.
Experience collaborating with and influencing product, engineering, design, and operational teams.
Experience in mobile optimization and other screen sizes.
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.
Experience with content management systems and user testing tools.
Experience creating and leveraging user personas.
Experience with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban principles.
Experience writing for SEO objectives.
Advanced understanding of accessible, inclusive, and equitable design.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
Demonstrated ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodation.

Salary Range:
$91,000.00 – $155,000.00 (National Salary)
$98,400.00 – $147,600.00 (California Salary)
The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US – WI – Madison on a full‑time basis and may differ by hiring location. In addition, this position is bonus eligible.
