
Communications Specialist
PLANTATION RESORT OF MYRTLE BEACH INC, Surfside Beach, SC, United States
The Communications Specialist will support the Marketing Department by creating compelling content, managing social media platforms, and assisting with initiatives that promote the Grand Palms Resort brand. This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate passionate about marketing, hospitality, and digital media. A key focus will be driving traffic and bookings to the resort, increasing online engagement, and building community partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation
Develop and design original multimedia content (photo, video, graphics) for use across social media, email campaigns, and the resort's website.
Write engaging captions, blog posts, and marketing copy aligned with brand voice.
Assist in planning and executing content calendars in coordination with resort promotions and events.
Capture on-site content including resort activities, amenities, and guest experiences.
Social Media Management
Schedule, post, and monitor content across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
Respond to messages, comments, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.
Track engagement metrics and compile performance reports.
Research trends and suggest creative strategies to enhance reach and interaction.
Brand Promotion & Partnerships
Identify and reach out to local businesses and influencers to explore partnership opportunities.
Support co-branded campaigns that promote the resort and local attractions.
Assist in organizing promotional events and community outreach initiatives.
Marketing Coordination
Maintain digital asset libraries and ensure brand consistency in all materials.
Support execution of email marketing campaigns and newsletters.
Assist with administrative tasks such as compiling performance data and managing marketing materials.
Collaborate with the Sales and Guest Services teams to align marketing strategies with business goals.
Required Education: A Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or relevant field or similar related work experience
Required Skills: Proficient in content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar).
Strong understanding of major social media platforms and their best practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Creative mindset with a passion for branding and storytelling.
Self-motivated, organized, and able to meet deadlines.

Working Conditions: The majority of work will be performed in a climate-controlled environment. However, depending on events and projects there could be work outside and thus occasionally exposed to severe inclement weather and varying degrees of extreme temperature.
Work Schedule/Hours Schedules will vary depending on business needs, and may entail working nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be flexible to work outside of normal departmental operating hours.
