Job Title: Nuclear Operations Procedure Writer
Location: Remote Work Model
Position Overview: System One is seeking a Nuclear Operations Procedure Writer. This long-term contract opportunity is essential for developing and maintaining administrative and operational procedures that support the efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance of our nuclear operations. You will lead a team focused on enhancing nuclear plant programs, collaborating with various departments, and ensuring high-quality procedural documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Procedure Development: Create and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of plant design and operations to produce high-quality operating and administrative procedures.
Process Management: Develop and implement processes and standards for writing and revising nuclear procedures, including the use of software-based support for electronic document management.
Team Coordination: Lead and provide guidance to a geographically diverse team of procedure writers and program owners, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and minimization of safety risks.
Training and Mentoring: Conduct regular training sessions and mentorship programs for personnel involved in procedure development and revisions.
Regulatory Compliance: Implement processes for conducting regulatory reviews and ensure compliance with NRC regulations, INPO criteria, and other relevant standards.
Collaboration: Engage with industry peers, vendors, and regulatory bodies to identify innovative approaches to procedure development.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial nuclear power plant operations, maintenance, or engineering.
5 years of experience in writing nuclear operational, maintenance, or engineering procedures, with at least 2 years focused on administrative program procedures.
2 years of leadership experience as a team lead, supervisor, or manager.
In-depth understanding of nuclear power plant systems, terminology, and relevant regulatory standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, alongside experience with computer-based procedures or other software tools.
Exceptional technical writing and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to procedural excellence.
Ability to work independently as a self-starter, offering innovative solutions to challenges with minimal supervision.
