This executive role involves strategically positioning the organization to sustain and expand its revenue streams, which include government grants, philanthropic funding, individual and corporate contributions, and fee-for-service business development.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the CDCO collaborates with the Senior Leadership Team to co-design revenue strategies and leads efforts to engage and cultivate relationships with funders and donors to support those strategies.
The CDCO is tasked with providing executive leadership over the Development and Communications functions, ensuring fund development strategy, external positioning, and narrative alignment with the organization's long-term goals.
The role involves managing budget authority for the Development and Communications Department and being accountable for revenue performance across various funding sources.
As the organization experiences a pivotal moment of growth and evolution, with a shift towards expanding private philanthropy, individual giving, and fee-for-service revenue, the CDCO will play a critical role in designing and scaling this next phase of its revenue model.
This includes strengthening financial resilience, diversifying funding sources, and positioning the organization for sustainable impact.
Key responsibilities of the CDCO include partnering with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to refine revenue strategies, aligning funding priorities with organizational strategy and systems-change goals.
The role also involves serving as a thought partner to initiative leaders, translating program strategy into fundable narratives and investment pathways without directing program execution.
