Reporting directly to the Chief Financial and Operations Officer (CFOO), the MDFPandA provides crucial business and financial advice to the CFOO and various budget leaders.
This role entails assisting in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for both national departments and regional Executive Directors.
The position also serves as a liaison between national and regional teams, managing a team of two to ensure the sustainable allocation of financial resources aimed at maximizing student outcomes in the long term.
The responsibilities of the MDFPandA include supporting the CFOO in the annual strategic planning process and building financial models and forecasting tools to facilitate long-term scenario planning.
The role plays a pivotal part in creating an annual budget, supporting the development of a sustainable $33 million budget for the fiscal year, and leading the annual budgeting and monthly forecast processes.
The MDFPandA prepares monthly financial performance reports and variance analysis by region or function and collaborates with budget owners and the regional operations team on cash flow forecasts.
Additionally, the position provides financial support, advice on fiscal operating decisions, and assistance with achieving financial sustainability goals.
The MDFPandA oversees operational excellence by evaluating, refining, and supporting systems and processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness as the organization continues to grow.
This includes enhancing the use of Adaptive Insights, integrating with third-party software providers, developing new reports, and creating financial dashboards.
The role also ensures compliance by preparing accurate and timely financial reports for funders and the quarterly Board of Directors meetings. xsgimln
