Executive Director - US

The Executive Director - US serves in a senior fundraising and external affairs role for a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping at-risk children and impoverished families in Eastern Europe. This position requires a visionary leader to spearhead the U.S.-based fundraising strategy and foster strong relationships with key donors and partners. The Executive Director will act as the primary public representative of the organization in the U.S., tasked with translating its care services into compelling narratives to expand its philanthropic support. Collaboration with the CEO ensures alignment between U.S. fundraising activities and the organization's operational objectives. The primary responsibilities include leading and executing all U.S.-based fundraising activities. This involves developing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, managing fundraising staff, and organizing events, campaigns, and donor engagement initiatives. The Executive Director will create and implement impactful donor communications and maintain an active portfolio of major donors and prospects. In pursuit of organizational growth, the role also requires identifying major funding opportunities and forging strategic relationships with key philanthropic partners and influencers across various sectors. The Executive Director will also focus on board engagement and governance support, managing interactions with the U.S. board to enhance engagement and participation in fundraising efforts. This includes planning board meetings with strategic agendas, encouraging trustee involvement, and collaborating with board members to further fundraising goals. The role demands a strategic thinker capable of hands-on execution and building necessary infrastructure with limited support resources, thereby ensuring the organization's mission is sustained and expanded through active community and donor involvement.
