The Impact You'll Make
As our Church Organist, you will be more than a musician—you will be a vital partner in ministry. Your music will help set the tone for worship, enhance the congregation’s participation, and create moments of beauty that linger long after the service ends. Whether accompanying hymns, leading preludes and postludes, or collaborating with our choir, soloists or ensembles, your artistry will help bring our mission to life.
What You'll Do
* Provide organ and piano music for Sunday worship services, seasonal celebrations (Christmas, Easter, etc.), weddings, and funerals. * Collaborate with the pastor and music director to select and prepare music that complements the liturgy and sermon themes. * Accompany congregational singing, choral anthems, and special music. * Help ensure proper maintenance and care for the church’s organ and pianos and help coordinate any necessary tuning or repairs. * Participate in rehearsals with the choir and other musicians as needed. * May offer occasional solo performances for special services or community events.
What You'll Bring
* Proficiency in organ performance, with strong sight-reading and accompaniment skills. * Familiarity with sacred and liturgical music traditions, as well as openness to incorporating diverse musical styles. * Ability to collaborate with clergy, choir, and other musicians in a team-oriented environment. * Reliability, professionalism, and a heart for serving through music. * Previous experience in a worship setting preferred but not required for exceptional candidates.
