THE IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE
The Sr. Credit Representative is responsible for the overall management of an accounts receivable portfolio assigned to them as it relates to credit, collection and communication needs. This includes contacting past due customers for payment, monitoring and actioning lien/bond expiration timelines, customer service and problem resolution, risk management of new and existing customers, sales tax certificate management, maintaining a regular communication cadence with branch teams, and working with third party collection agencies. This position also serves as a support role for newer, less experienced team members.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Analyze information received from customers and various credit services
Approve and apply unsecured shop limits within assigned authority (up to 100k)
Approve and apply job limits within assigned authority (up to 500k)
Proactively manage the course of aging accounts and determine action needed
Create and approve payment plans for delinquent customers (up to 100k and 90 days)
Perform collection calls for accounts
Process and approve lien waivers
Review lien / bond filing dates to ensure collectability of AR portfolio
Follow all required state/federal lien and bond laws for branches assigned
Responsible for sales tax exemption certificates for specific area including approval
Reconcile short pays and Unapplied Cash on branch accounts
Follow up on disputes timely and work with Regional/Branch and salesman to resolve
Facilitate placement of accounts with collection agencies including periodic follow-
Determine legal action when necessary, including direct communication with legal representation
Assist with training of less experienced team members
Communicate regularly with Regional / Branch and salesman regarding collection matters
Provide guidance to fellow credit team members on complex and escalated issues
Visit customers and branches as needed which will include some limited travel
Perform other duties as assigned
YOUR BACKGROUND
Minimum 4 years collection experience - distribution, wholesale, manufacturing preferred
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
General computer skills (Windows, Office, Excel)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prefer 4-year college degree or college hours plus experience
Will consider additional credit/collection experience in lieu of degree
Construction industry knowledge

Attendance -
Ability to maintain the scheduled days and hours, including onsite presence at the assigned location as specified.
Physical Capacities -
Lift up to 25 pounds on occasion, sitting and standing for extended periods.

Job requires operation of equipment common to office settings, including computers, copiers, and other office equipment, including Near Vision, Manual Dexterity, and working in proximity to equipment.
