Geomatics Director
Location: Richmond, VA | Williamsburg, VA | Virginia Beach, VA
VHB’s Mid‑Atlantic Geomatics Team is seeking a Geomatics Director to lead its dynamic group serving Virginia and the District of Columbia. The director will oversee program and project management, supervise the Survey/Geomatics team across these locations, and serve as a key conduit between regional leadership and technical staff.
Responsibilities
Develop and support service line strategies aligned with VHB’s strategic plan and regional business planning.
Align service offerings to market requirements.
Collaborate with regional leadership to identify new services or skills.
Develop growth plans and identify market opportunities and strategies, including key hires and business development.
Promote awareness of available technologies within the Geomatics team.
Deploy leading‑edge work processes, technologies, and applications to execute projects more effectively.
Develop client solutions that leverage data and technologies.
Develop and implement consistent work processes and standards with leadership groups.
Implement quality plans with discipline groups.
Review client and quality audit feedback and implement best practices regionally.
Create project plans, identify and organize resources, and execute projects to completion.
Monitor project budgets, scopes, and schedules.
Promote work sharing across offices and advise on staff deployment for major projects.
Manage a team of Geomatics professionals, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, coaching, and discipline.
Participate in professional and personal development aligned with career goals.

Skills and knowledge commensurate with required experience and job level.
Qualifications
15+ years of experience managing Survey/Geomatics projects, including 10+ years of client, staff and project management.
BS in Survey Engineering, Geomatics, Geographic Information Systems, Engineering, Reality Capture or related field.
VA Land Surveyor license required.
