Payments Compliance Director - Governance & New Product Advisory Looking for a company that inspires passion, courage and creativity, where you can be on the team shaping the future of global commerce? eBay Payments Compliance seeks a highly motivated, strategic, and collaborative leader to drive AML Compliance Governance and New Product Advisory. This role will play a critical part in expanding and strengthening the compliance program across U.S. and international marketplace regulatory risks, while maintaining a strong governance framework for eBays Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Sanctions compliance program. This is a senior leadership role reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer/BSA Officer, managing a team, and supporting the most exciting parts of eBay incluidng eBay Live! The role will define long-term strategy and lead teams responsible for:

Payments - AML and Sanctions Compliance Governance Set strategy, operating model, and organizational design for AML and Sanctions governance

Engage senior leadership, risk committees, and regulators on key risks and program direction

Drive cross-functional alignment across Compliance, Legal, Product, and Business teams

Lead a team responsible for: Compliance risk assessments

Compliance testing and issue remediation

Regulatory engagement, audits, and examinations

AML training

Responding to partner and bank due diligence requests

Payments Compliance - New Product Advisory Drive engagement and decision-making frameworks across the lifecycle to ensure Payments Compliance requirements are included

Influence Product and Engineering leadership to integrate compliance into roadmaps early and often

Lead a team responsible for: Providing advisory to Product, Engineering, and Business teams on new initiatives,subsidiaryy work, and eBay Live

Supporting initiatives from ideation through launch

Developing standards, playbooks, and review processes

Additional Responsibilities:

Provide strategic guidance to senior management on regulatory risks, emerging trends, and program enhancements

Maintain and evolve AML and Sanctions policy frameworks and control environments

Support Board and committee reporting, including development of key risk and performance indicators

Lead interactions with regulators, including examinations, inquiries, and remediation tracking

Drive timely and effective resolution of compliance issues and control gaps

Build and maintain strong relationships across global stakeholders

Qualifications:

10-15+ years of experience in AML/Sanctions compliance, with significant leadership experience

Experience in fintech, payments, technology, or high-growth financial services environments

Strong knowledge of BSA/AML and OFAC/Sanctions regulations and requirements

Extensive experience partnering with Product and Engineering teams

Proven ability to build and scale teams and operating models

Experience influencing senior stakeholders, including C-suite leadership

Strong track record of driving complex initiatives and resolving regulatory issues

Experience managing regulatory exams and working with auditors and regulators

Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory concepts into practical guidance

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Preferred: Masters Degree or Juris Doctor (JD). preferred, not required

CAMS, CFCS, CFE, or similar certifications

Additional Details The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below: $152,000 - $227,500

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
