Job Summary The primary function of the Account Services Representative / Collector is to be responsible for managing customer accounts to ensure timely payment of outstanding balances while maintaining positive customer relationships. This role involves contacting customers regarding overdue accounts, resolving billing issues, negotiating payment arrangements, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and current customer master files, including detailed account notes and supporting documentation.
Monitor customer credit limits and past-due balances to ensure proper oversight and control of outstanding accounts.
Review and analyze customer accounts to identify delinquent balances, payment patterns, and trends.
Contact customers by phone, email, and written correspondence to collect overdue balances while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining firm, professional collection practices.
Track accounts to ensure timely receipt of payments and perform follow-up as needed.
Respond to customer calls and emails regarding account questions or concerns, working collaboratively with internal departments to resolve issues promptly.
Achieve established accounts receivable aging targets and performance objectives.
Review and process credit override requests, including increasing or restricting credit privileges based on payment history and creditworthiness.
Respond to inquiries from internal staff regarding credit department policies, procedures, and account status.
Research and resolve billing discrepancies, disputes, and payment issues in a timely and accurate manner.
Escalate unresolved, high-risk, or delinquent accounts in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Prepare and distribute monthly customer statements.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in accounting, finance, or business preferred.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend English instructions and information.
1–3 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or customer service.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and accounting software.
Excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills.
Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities.
Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize workload effectively.
Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities and workloads.
High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Maintain a professional appearance and comply with company guidelines for punctuality and attendance.
