Overview
This position provides on‑site project supervision and field leadership for construction, maintenance and repair tasks across U.S. Army Garrison Alaska (USAG‑Alaska) facilities. The incumbent manages work orders, leads field teams, coordinates multi‑trade efforts, and ensures compliance with Army standards.
Responsibilities
Supervise on‑site construction, maintenance, and repair projects, including roads, utilities, and buildings.
Lead and coordinate multi‑trade field teams, ensuring effective collaboration across trades.
Manage work orders, allocate resources, and ensure projects meet Army engineering standards, safety regulations (e.g., EM 385‑1‑1, OSHA), and environmental policies.
Provide oversight for specialized services such as mold remediation, water damage recovery, and emergency repair support.
Report progress, prepare project documentation, and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
8+ years of progressive experience in construction, maintenance, or military operations.
Documented experience as a team lead or project manager and managing operational teams.
Eligibility to obtain Secret Clearance.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote field locations.
U.S. citizenship and ability to access base.
Strong communication skills and proactive, hands‑on leadership.
Position Details
Location: Fort Wainwright, Fairbanks, Alaska. Full‑time, term‑funded exempt staff position with competitive salary and benefits. Salary: UA Staff Salary Schedule Grade 83.
