Director, Business Insights Analytics – Rare Disease

Overview

The Director, Business Insights Analytics is responsible for developing and communicating data-driven and actionable insights that drive greater customer and market understanding to inform launch and go-to market strategies and help meet in-line commercial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with disease–aligned teams and leaders across the US commercial organizations to understand their strategic priorities across the commercial value chain and translate priorities into business needs and interconnected problem solving.
  • Be a thought leader and strategic partner for commercial teams and senior marketing leaders, engaging, influencing, and, if needed, challenging commercial partners as an equal partner.
  • Lead Associate Directors, Senior Specialists and Specialists with direct line‑management responsibility; lead cross‑functional insights pods across DHH and other parts of the organization.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams that include market research, forecasting, commercial analytics, data science, customer engagement, data strategy, population health, competitive insights, marketing operations, medical and clinical backgrounds.
  • Develop and own the commercial insight generation strategy and roadmap.
  • Articulate how work to date ties to business priorities, identify unmet needs and gaps, and develop a plan to address additional needs and enable brand and commercial strategy with functional leaders across DHH.
  • Understand all current and planned work for a disease area or business unit, and work with cross‑functional teams to articulate the value or impact of each piece of work; create a process to better articulate the ‘so what’ and ‘now what’ and track realized business value.
  • Work with marketing leadership to prioritize work that needs to be done given capacity within DHH.
  • Understand key take‑aways from work done to date and enable insight syndication.

Travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12+ years of marketing insights and strategy support experience, delivering complex analytical projects in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry using brand analytics, market research and/or large patient or physician databases in the US.
  • Minimum 3+ years of leading commercial insights teams.
  • Strong experience and/or deep knowledge in respiratory and chronic diseases.
  • Intellectual curiosity, entrepreneurial spirit, consultative mindset, and a strong understanding of healthcare and pharma marketing.
  • Strong leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to develop talent, build a high‑performing team culture, and embody continuous learning.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead and coach both direct line and dotted‑line individuals.
  • Strong experience in rare disease and/or specialty, cardiovascular, respiratory therapeutic areas.

Education

  • Undergraduate degree in a related discipline is required.
  • MBA or Master’s or Doctorate in Decision Science, Marketing, Engineering, Public Health, Biological Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Medical Sciences is preferred.

Work Location

Upper Gwynedd, PA. The role will be hybrid; the chosen candidate is expected to work in the office at least three days per week.

Salary and Benefits

Salary range: $210,400.00 - $331,100.00. The successful candidate will be eligible for an annual bonus and long‑term incentive, if applicable. A comprehensive package of benefits is offered, including medical, dental, vision, health care and other insurance benefits, retirement benefits such as 401(k), paid holidays, vacation, compassionate and sick days.
