Lake Compounce is seeking Face Character Actresses/Actors who will bring our character program to life. Our Face Characters greet our guests, pose for photographs, and create memorable moments for guests.

Lake Compounce - Seasonal Face Character Actress/Actor

Audition Information: May 14th, 2026, 4:00‑7:00 pm – Must interview to be eligible for audition.

Face Character Actress – 1846 Female Character (To Be Named)

  • Must be 5’4‑5’6 and fit into a women’s Extra Small.
  • Classic look, no visible tattoo, piercings, or unnatural colored hair.
  • Slim Build.
  • Acting/Improv ability, high quality character actress.
  • Must memorize light scripting and historical facts about the park.
  • Must lightly improv and interact with guests.
  • Will read from script and be asked to improv.
  • Must be 18+.
  • Must be comfortable wearing a wig and makeup.
  • Hiring one person to play the character for weekends in July and August.

What To Bring:

  • Recent head shot.
  • Updated performance resume.
  • This character is not required to sing or dance.

Face Character Actress – Jacqueline Timber

  • Must be 5’6‑5’8 and fit in a women’s Large.
  • Classic look, no visible tattoo or piercings.
  • Highly Athletic, Muscular Build.
  • Acting/Improv ability, high quality character actress.
  • Passable for 20’s.
  • Must memorize scripting and interact with guests.
  • Will read from sides and may be asked to improv.
  • Must be 18+.
  • Must be comfortable wearing a wig and makeup.
  • Will hire 2 people to play the character starting at the end of May through Labor Day Weekend.

What To Bring:

  • Recent head shot.
  • Updated performance resume.
  • This character is not required to sing or dance.

Face Character Actor – Jackson Timber

  • Must be 5’8‑5’10 and fit in a men’s Extra Large.
  • Classic look, no visible tattoo or piercings.
  • Thick, Muscular, Athletic Build.
  • Acting/Improv ability, high quality character actor.
  • Passable for 20’s.
  • Must memorize scripting and interact with guests.
  • Will read from sides and may be asked to improv.
  • Must be 18+.
  • Must be comfortable wearing a wig and makeup.
  • Will hire 2 people to play the character starting at the end of May through Labor Day Weekend.

What To Bring:

  • Recent head shot.
  • Updated performance resume.
  • This character is not required to sing or dance.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Entertain park guests by creating fun and immersive character performances.
  • Meet and greet with all guests in a memorable manner.
  • Be prepared and in costume on time for all scheduled shifts.
  • Maintain the illusion of being the character you are representing through physical movement and interactions.
  • Follow all protocols of the park’s character training.
  • Execute performances as scripted by the park.
  • Communicate any safety concerns related to the costume or environment in a timely manner.
  • Be respectful of the costume – return to storage properly, maintain appearance, spot clean as needed in accordance with training.
  • Report costume maintenance needs in a timely manner.
  • Assist in costume maintenance and repair.
  • Be responsible for personal hygiene and under layers to maintain a shared costume.
  • All other duties assigned by leadership.

Language

Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English. Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must successfully pass an audition and/or character training for this role.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work 20+ hours per week when needed.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shift.
  • Must comply with all grooming standards, uniform and/or costume requirements.
  • Ability to immerse in role and remain in character throughout the performance.
  • Must possess strong cardio endurance, physical storytelling abilities, and performance energy.
  • Must be playful, outgoing, friendly, and convey a positive, guest‑centric attitude.
  • Must possess effective verbal and non‑verbal acting and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow direction, multi‑task, and work as part of a fast‑paced team.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workday.
  • Ability to wear assigned costume for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders.
  • Ability to perform in costumes that may have limited sight lines.
  • Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 40 pounds or more.

Working Conditions

  • Frequent exposure to outdoor and indoor areas of the park.
  • Frequent exposure to variable outdoor temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, and ice.
  • Subject to frequent interruptions, constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, and heavily populated environments.
