Our team currently has an opening for a General Manager.
Job Responsibilities
- Possess the business acumen to position Brenntag's Last Mile Operations as a strategic advantage for our customers and suppliers.
- Clearly lead the business drivers of our last mile operations, including safety, operations, sales deployment, and customer service toward the execution of Brenntag Essentials go‑to‑market strategy.
- Execute our desire for continued improvement in top line gross profit growth, while improving conversion ratios and working capital metrics of inventory and accounts receivable.
- Develop a comprehensive strategy to address capacity planning requirements including plant & equipment and personnel to meet current and anticipated growth goals.
- Understand and use financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and P&L metrics to measure and improve business performance including volume, gross profit, personnel expenses, and operating expenses.
- Increase gross margin and gross margin conversion by working with key strategic suppliers and the product management / material management teams through volume, price and inventory management.
- Provide leadership and set clear expectations and metrics for all branch personnel.
- Recruit & hire, reward & recognize, train & develop, coach & counsel, and take corrective action as needed.
- Maintain documented procedures for work processes by working closely with branch personnel as well as sub‑region, regional and BES divisional resources.
Education and Experience
- BS in Business Administration, Industrial Distribution, Industrial Management, Marketing, Operations Management, Sales, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Finance with a minimum of 10 years distribution/manufacturing experience.
- Minimum of 5 years demonstrated people leadership/management skills.
- P&L experience.
- Self‑motivated, possessing a high energy level and desire to win; superior teamwork, time‑management and influencing skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong commercial background.
- Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical and creative skills.
