Director of Programs 1 to co‑lead the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division Software Factory team in supporting the Design, Development and Integration of Software across the Division. This position reports to the Director of the SDS Software Factory and will be located at Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL .

Responsibilities

  • Accountable to the Sentinel Software Factory Director for cost and schedule performance of Software Factory work items (i.e. feature deliveries)
  • Responsible for capturing, defining and standing up a Sentinel Software Factory, including System Feature Value Stream identification and performance improvements
  • Responsible for the alignment of the Strategic IFC plans and DevOps pipeline to the program strategic plan
  • Responsible for developing the infrastructure to continuously monitor the performance of the Sentinel Software Factory
  • Responsible for communicating successes and opportunities to increase the speed and quality of feature delivery to our customers
  • Responsible for working closely with Chief Engineers and Chief Architects to shape Weapon System design objectives to align/facilitate continuous delivery of capability and related software features.
  • Responsible for working with the Digital Engineering (DE) team to develop requirements and ensure the software development environment and related infrastructure meets the Software Factory engineer’s needs, including continuous build / deploy to developers, labs and virtual labs.
  • Responsible for leading (with the Sentinel Software Factory Director) a team that includes:
    • Agile MBSE software architecture development
    • Development Scrum Teams
    • Software Test and Software Integration Teams
    • DevOps Infrastructure Team (build/deploy, configuration management)
    • Software Information, Tooling and Data Analytics team

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine‑hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business‑related field and a minimum 10 years of related experience
  • Experience in a formal management/lead position
  • 3+ years experience with:
    • Management experience leading a technical and complex program effort.
    • Experience developing and administering budgets and standards of performance
    • Experience in developing and implementing technologies associated with production processes with efficient and sustainable implementation
  • U.S. Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance with investigation date/periodic review within last 5 years and ability to obtain program special access

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred candidate will be a proven leader; problem solver; possess a strong work ethic; and have excellent communications and interpersonal skills required to work closely with teammates, stakeholders and both internal and external customers.
  • Familiarity with Northrop Grumman project execution, processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience with IFC and Agile software development in a classified environment.
  • Experience implementing Simulation and Emulators in support of Software Integration and Test.
  • Experience with NG Real Time Component Framework.
  • Extensive experience integrating Software and Hardware in Lab environments for large Aircraft and/or Spacecraft programs.
  • Experience designing, building and implementing systems engineering and software factory metrics to track flow through a DevOps pipeline.

Compensation

Primary Level Salary Range: $193,800.00 - $321,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
