Director, Sponsor Finance
Location: TX - Dallas/Irving
What You’ll Do
As a Director, you will be in a senior‑level leadership position responsible for executing the division’s strategic plan and guiding your team in meeting the Bank’s annual growth and customer retention targets. You will lead a group of Commercial Bankers, Business Development Officers, and Portfolio Management staff to expand market share, grow the portfolio, and deepen customer relationships. You will support the team in credit structuring discussions, portfolio health management, and market dynamics responsiveness.
- Support the Division CEO in executing the Bank’s strategic plan, focusing on growing the loan and deposit portfolio of the assigned region or business line.
- Execute the tactical strategy outlined by the Division CEO regarding transaction pitches and negotiation of term sheets; guide the credit structuring development process, customer assessment, and presentation to senior and divisional loan committees.
- Ensure the team’s success in managing portfolio health and proactively address deteriorating loan performance, mitigating risk from market developments, service delivery complications, and product adoption.
- Build strong working relationships with executive and senior leaders in partner departments (Credit Administration, Risk Management/Compliance, Loan Administration, other internal support departments, and third‑party services); facilitate the team’s contribution to and compliance with technical processes and requirements, risk mitigation, efficiency, and customer service.
- Lead and develop the team; responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, training, and development.
What You’ll Need
- 8+ years of related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Previous leadership experience preferred.
- Advanced to expert knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management, and other commercial banking products and services.
- Advanced to expert knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules, regulations, industry standards, and practices.
- Advanced knowledge of commercial credit and loan structuring, pricing dynamics, and market‑specific awareness.
- Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
- May require up to 50% travel.
