General Function
Responsible for curating, developing, writing and proofing a wide range of content across Hy‑Vee’s marketing channels. Primary canvas will be social, digital, web and video with some print sprinkled in. The ideal candidate is a natural storyteller with a passion to engage with consumers through useful, usable and innovative content, has a keen sense of organization, thrives under pressure and loves punctuation.

Reporting Relations
Accountable and reports to: Assistant Director, Video Content; Vice President, Brand & Creative. Positions that report to you: None.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Write clever, engaging copy across a variety of digital platforms (including, but not limited to social media, emails and newsletters, Hy‑Vee.com, Hy‑Vee’s App and SMS Texts).

Collaborate and brainstorm with Content Team on original ideas for channel marketing campaigns and their respective outputs.

Responsible for day‑to‑day management of the copy process from start to finish.

Create, proof and edit written content with correct spelling and grammar.

Ensure copy tone and style are on brand, consistent, and support strategic business goals across all Hy‑Vee print and digital platforms.

Implement best practices for entertaining and informative copy content across various digital properties while applying proper tagging and SEO where applicable.

Stay relevant with industry trends and follow emerging social and digital channels and marketing tactics to elevate content.

Report analytics of content performance for responsible platforms with support from the data team.

Able to handle whatever comes your way, manage deadlines and adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsible for following strict timelines.

Collaborate with Graphic Designers and Leaders to create and update presentations and collateral for client and/or executive presentations, promotional materials and more.

Self‑motivated and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.

Stay current with and leverage AI tools to support content creation, testing, and optimization, using them to enhance efficiency while maintaining brand voice, accuracy, and quality standards.

Expertise with Microsoft Office Products, proficient with social media business accounts, CMS platforms, and Project Management platform.

Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing or related field required.

Minimum 2‑3 years experience in content and creative writing in an agency or similar environment.

Physical Requirements

Visual requirements: ability to see detail at near and far range with or without correction, normal depth perception.

Must be physically able to perform light work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects and occasionally standing or walking.

Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions when asked to be onset.

Working Conditions
The duties of this position are performed in a general office setting and also a work‑from‑home environment. There may be travel involved for on‑location video shoots.
