Role Overview Customer Service Representatives 2 administer and evaluate driving exams and assist customers with titles and registrations. You will calmly and patiently evaluate customers’ knowledge and ability to adhere to traffic laws. When you are not facilitating these exams, you will be at the front line, processing transactions for customers.

Location: Kendallville, Indiana, BMV Branch Office. Branch hours:

Monday – Friday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Saturday – Sunday: Closed

Salary Salary traditionally starts at $31,668 annually ($16.24 per hour) but may be commensurate with education and experience. Use our Compensation Calculator to view the total compensation package.

A Day In The Life

Administer skills tests and evaluate driving skills.

Assist customers with vehicle and watercraft titles and registration needs.

Maintain compliance with all state of Indiana laws related to vehicle operation, licensure, and registration.

Attend training classes and/or take certification tests as required.

Maintain privacy of customer and all related records.

Substitute for Customer Service Representatives as needed.

Required

High school diploma or equivalent.

Must be 21 years of age or older.

Must possess a valid driver’s license for at least the preceding 12 month period.

Free from at‑fault motor vehicle accidents that resulted in death or serious bodily injury.

Additional Qualifications

Ability to travel up to 20 percent of the time to branch locations, training, or branch‑related community activities.

Customer service experience.

Ability to relate tactfully but decisively to all types of people and situations which may require a calm disposition, alertness, quick reflexes, and patience.

Must be familiar with the operations of all types of motor vehicles.

Working knowledge of Indiana driving laws.

Top‑notch communication skills.

A high level of critical thinking and the ability to troubleshoot.

Ability to process cash and card transactions.

Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
