
Mortgage Servicing Specialist

Job Summary
Blaze Credit Union is looking to hire a Mortgage Servicing Specialist to join our team. The Mortgage Servicing Specialist will assist members in a courteous and professional manner while maintaining efficiency and accuracy while completing activities pertaining to the mortgage servicing area.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain information on all mortgage loans including payment postings, new loans, updating member information, processing payoffs, curtailments, monthly billing statements, adjustments, escrows, and account research.
Post mortgage payments, late fees, and payoffs when received and calculate and process mortgage loan payoff requests.
Process, analyze, and verify Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) payments/cancellations.
Perform certain teller functions such as loan booking, error corrections, and loan transfers.
File active loan files, recorded mortgages, and miscellaneous loan documents.
Effectively track paid off mortgages and releases.
Disburse funds from member’s escrow accounts as required by law.
Manage loss draft requests to ensure collateral is protected.
Assist with investor reporting, cash remittance, and balancing.
Answer routine calls and/or walk‑in questions from members.
Other Duties
Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Requirements
Minimum high‑school degree or equivalent.
Minimum 1–2 years of similar or related financial experience.
Demonstrated Knowledge
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Computer skills including Microsoft products.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
Knowledge of Encompass a plus.
Strong attention to detail.
Communication Skills Ability to proactively respond to members and associates to problem‑solve based on guidelines; written communications are based on templates but can be modified.
Physical Requirements Ability to sit and stand; answer calls; operate a computer; interact with internal associates and members on the phone; travel to designated offices; lift up to 20 lbs.

Compensation and Benefits We are committed to providing salary ranges for all open positions. The required salary range for this role is $25.20‑$29.00 per hour, reflecting the base salary for this position. Additional benefits include low‑cost medical (as low as $20 per paycheck), dental and vision insurance, quarterly bonuses, generous vacation and sick time hours, paid leave options, up to 6% 401k contribution, and tuition reimbursement.
