Overview
Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects, identifying customer needs and providing advice and guidance regarding financial solutions that are in the best interests of customers. Work collaboratively within the branch and through various channels with BMO partners to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve overall business objectives.
Responsibilities
Proactively engage with existing customers and prospects, providing needs‑based assessments to grow loyalty and identify opportunities.
Engage customers to complete needs assessments, recommending tailored financial solutions and preferred banking channels (e.g., everyday banking, retail investments, lending solutions).
Offer clients advice on digital and self‑serve options with the goal of making banking easy, simple, and fast.
Support customer transaction needs based on traffic.
Generate appointments and build new relationships within the community to grow BMO’s business.
Address questions and resolve issues raised through consumer credit audits and quality checks to ensure accurate data entry and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Apply the risk management framework to protect the Bank’s assets and maintain the quality of the lending portfolio.
Make credit recommendations for personal lending transactions, including home financing, following sound credit granting principles.
Act as a key member of a collaborative branch and market team.
Probe to understand personal banking and credit card needs, integrating promotions and programs into conversations.
Organize work information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Take initiative to create personalized customer experiences.
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the overall customer experience.
May work at multiple branches or through various channels; schedules may vary.
Follow through on risk and compliance processes, ensuring customer assets are safeguarded.
Keep current with marketplace, regulatory environment, and ethical standards.
Maintain knowledge of personal banking products and trends.
Identify and report suspicious activity related to money laundering.
Comply with legal and regulatory requirements for the jurisdiction.
Protect the Bank’s assets in compliance with regulatory, legal, and ethical requirements.
Complete complex tasks within given rules and handle escalations.
Analyze issues and determine next steps.
Take measured risks while protecting the bank’s risk appetite and strategy.
Qualifications
Typically 2–3 years of relevant experience and a post‑secondary degree in a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
Canada only: Registration to sell investment products completed as appropriate for the jurisdiction.
Appropriate lending qualifications and designations.
Working knowledge of personal and small‑business customer needs and solutions.
Experience with retail investments and lending products.
Experience in financial services is an asset.
Confidence and experience using social media, tablets, smartphones, online tools, and applications.
Experience in a consultative customer service or sales role, with a drive to deliver a personal experience.
Passionate commitment to helping customers.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport.
Excellent listening, problem‑solving, and flexible response skills.

Salary
$50,100.00 – $82,800.00 (salaried)
