Revenue Specialist
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and enhance scalable revenue models to support forecasting across multiple products, customers, and market segments in a technology‑driven utilities environment.
Translate contractual terms, revenue recognition assumptions, and operational inputs into clear, accurate, and customer‑focused revenue forecasts.
Partner collaboratively with Revenue Operations to support monthly and quarterly forecasting cycles, incorporating pipeline, backlog, contract modifications, and operational changes.
Apply applicable accounting guidance and internal revenue policies to ensure forecast integrity, transparency, and compliance.
Proactively identify forecasting risks, opportunities, and key assumptions, demonstrating accountability and sound judgment.
Support scenario modeling and ad‑hoc analyses to evaluate the revenue impact of changes in deal structure, timing, customer behavior, or market conditions.
Collaborate with FP&A to analyze forecast variances versus prior forecasts, budgets, and actual results, clearly explaining drivers related to volume, timing, pricing, or contract changes.
Provide clear, actionable insights and analytical support for management reviews, forecast discussions, and strategic decision‑making.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and control across revenue models, forecasting tools, and source systems.
Document key assumptions, methodologies, and judgment areas to support audit readiness, internal controls, and continuous process improvement.
Contribute to an agile, innovative, and collaborative finance culture that prioritizes customer impact and operational excellence.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
2–5+ years of experience in revenue accounting, revenue analytics, forecasting, FP&A, or related finance roles.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with experience building and maintaining complex financial or revenue models.
Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large, multi‑source datasets.
Ability to communicate technical and financial concepts clearly and authentically to non‑accounting and cross‑functional stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities with organization, accountability, and attention to detail.
Collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to improving processes, models, and outcomes.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience partnering with Revenue Operations, Deal Desk, commercial finance, or go‑to‑market teams.
Familiarity with revenue recognition concepts under ASC 606.
Experience supporting forecasting cycles in a matrixed, cross‑functional, technology‑driven organization.
Exposure to ERP, CRM, and forecasting or BI systems such as Oracle, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
Experience in the Utilities, Energy, SaaS, or technology‑enabled infrastructure sectors.
