Compensation Overview
Annual base salary range: $47,700.00 - $78,600.00. The actual salary will depend on factors such as scope, location, education, experience, and other employment conditions. Employees may also receive performance‑based cash incentive awards.
Target openings: 2.
What Is the Opportunity?
Under moderate supervision, manage Workers' Compensation Claims with stable lifetime indemnity and/or medical benefits where medical expenditures are not expected to exceed $6,000 annually and there are settlement opportunities. Handle death benefits, pay award only, minimal active or pending litigation, and mediation.
What Will You Do?
Manage and resolve stable lifetime claims.
Use structured settlement or annuity as appropriate for the jurisdiction.
Manage existing offsets, including apportionment, contribution and subrogation.
Facilitate timely claim resolution by leveraging mitigation opportunities.
Establish and update reserves to reflect claim exposure with documented rationale.
Collaborate with specialty resources to proactively pursue claim resolution opportunities.
Apply knowledge to determine causal relatedness of medical conditions.
Negotiate settlement of claims within designated authority.
Proactively manage inventory with documented plans of action for file closure or reassignment.
Manage cases telephonically, maximizing quality and controlling costs.
Review, approve and issue accurate indemnity, medical, and expense payments for lifetime and long‑term claims.
Determine claim value.
Complete required letters, state forms and any other documents.
Establish and maintain incurreds that reflect claim exposure.
Apply coverage limits and endorsements.
Determine and apply offset or contribution from third‑party sources.
Develop and execute resolution strategy.
Develop ongoing strategic plans for resolution when significant events occur.
Utilize and manage resources to resolve outstanding issues.
Communicate and complete denials on medical and indemnity issues.
Ensure timely file closing or reassignment.
Evaluate and negotiate settlements, determining appropriate value and range.
Communicate negotiation status.
Identify need for allocation or Medicare Set Asides and refer appropriately.
Engage customers and specialty resources as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Obtain and maintain required Insurance Licenses within three months of employment.
Maintain ongoing continuing education credits.

Medical knowledge of injury nature, disability periods, and treatment.
Ability to know when to utilize a medical resource.
Understanding of Workers' Compensation products and available resources.
Clear understanding of jurisdictional parameters.

Intermediate planning and organizing ability.
What is a Must Have?
High School Diploma or GED and one year of customer service experience OR Bachelor’s Degree.
