UHDS Digital Media Assistant

Job Summary
UHDS Digital Media Assistant – a student position in the University Housing & Dining Services marketing and communications unit. The role involves maintaining and updating the UHDS website and the food at OSU site, creating digital content, and supporting video and multimedia projects. The position requires 10–20 hours per week during the semester (June 2026 – June 2027) with potential summer and subsequent academic year work.

Responsibilities

Website updates

Use the Drupal content management system to construct, maintain, update, and troubleshoot the UHDS website and the food at OSU website.

Coordinate with the UHDS marketing team to implement web edits and incorporate feedback from stakeholders.

Attend training sessions and pursue ongoing professional development, including Drupal‑specific trainings.

Manage content for UHDS digital display screens located in dining locations and residential buildings.

Video and digital production

Produce compelling storytelling content that highlights UHDS programs, services, and the on‑campus living/dining experience through videos, e‑newsletters, animations, graphics, and other media.

Develop and edit videos, web content, and multimedia pieces targeting diverse university stakeholders and audiences.

Team collaboration and other duties

Participate in marketing meetings and brainstorming sessions.

Collaborate with professional and student marketing staff through weekly meetings and discussions to develop and improve visual communication assets.

Maintain organized file management practices.

Guide projects from initiation to concept, execution, and completion in partnership with marketing management.

Verify academic status: enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program of study.

Meet academic standing requirements; students on suspension are not eligible.

Maintain minimum enrollment standards:

High school student: regularly enrolled or participating in a home‑schooling program.

Undergraduate / post‑baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term.

Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term.

Graduate student: 5 credit hours per term.

Graduate international student: 9 credit hours per term.

Required Qualifications

Experience in web development, content management, video production, and/or photography (personal, academic, or professional).

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to work collaboratively while independently managing tasks with high self‑direction.

Preferred (Special) Qualifications

Experience living in an on‑campus environment.

Enrollment in graphic design, new media communications, or related degree area.

Experience with the Drupal content management system.

Bilingual skills, preferably Spanish.

Commitment to diversity and learning about identities beyond one’s own.

Experience working within a brand system.

Additional Information
Security‑sensitive. The incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and comply with OSU Standard 576‑055‑0000 et seq. OSU will also review the National Sex Offender Public website prior to hire.
