Associate Pastor: First Presbyterian Church
Job Description: Associate Pastor of Congregational Care and Family Ministry will serve as a vital member of the ministry staff, responsible for coordinating pastoral care within the congregation, oversight for children’s and youth ministries and new member outreach. The position ensures that covenant partners and families of the church are nurtured spiritually, provided spiritual guidance through counseling, supported in times of need, connected in Christian community and engaged in opportunities for growth in Christ.
Position Qualifications:
A deep abiding faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to the mission of First Presbyterian Church
Familiarity with traditional Presbyterian beliefs and practices, and an affirmation of ECO Essential Tenets. https//eco-pres.org
Experience in congregational care.
Compassionate, empathetic with a heart for the Lord and for serving others
Experienced or trained in counseling
Strong relational skills
Organizational skills to manage multiple projects and initiatives effectively
Ability to recruit, encourage and equip volunteers effectively
Ability to deliver a sermon when called upon by our lead pastor with a frequency that the successful candidate and our pastor design
