
Group Leader, Small Molecule Analytical Chemistry

Position Summary
Shift: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. 100% on-site.
Catalent, Inc. seeks a Group Leader, Small Molecule Analytical Chemistry to supervise a team of scientists and associates in the Small Molecule Analytical Chemistry Department. The role focuses on planning, prioritizing, and executing analytical work, managing project timelines, budget, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and GMP standards.
Responsibilities
Plan, prioritize, organize, and execute analytical work in accordance with client contract or technical agreement requirements.
Oversee projects, maintain project timelines and budgets, and serve as Project Technical Lead.
Assist in production of costing, timelines, and revenue forecasts for client projects.
Ensure safe laboratory practices, compliance with in-house SOPs, safety legislation, and GMP.
Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, peers, and managers to facilitate project activities, and maintain technical communications with other corporate groups.
Maintain awareness of modern techniques and apply them as necessary, including performing testing.
Ensure staff conduct appraisals and performance reviews in accordance with company policy; identify training needs.
Assure integrity and quality of analytical data, ensuring adherence to SOPs and GMP; perform technical review of data.
Candidate Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or closely related physical science.
11+ years of related technical work experience preferred.
Minimum 2 years of relevant leadership experience (including mentorship).
Advanced project‑management skills with experience handling multiple concurrent projects of moderate to high complexity.
Experience across key drug‑development aspects and lifecycle support, with strategy development to meet regulatory milestones.
Substantial breadth and depth of technical acumen in multiple analytical techniques, with one or more techniques of significant expertise.
