GrayWolf is seeking Ironworkers at our Cameron, LA project site.
Summary
A journeyman level Ironworker has a minimum of 4 years heavy industrial experience with structural component assembly and maintenance including welding, fabrication, and stress relieving. An Ironworker is also knowledgeable in oxyfuel cutting, identifying, and installing iron and supports, and able to read structural drawings and detail sheets.
Essential Duties
Safely and competently identify and use advanced rigging procedures and equipment.
Locate needed material or equipment to be moved by lift and secure those materials following safety guidelines.
Set up framework of building by positioning steel girders or other structural elements and then bolting them into place or preparing them for permanent bolting and/or welding.
Ensure that all reinforcing material is in its proper position so that it receives its intended structural load.
Read blueprints, drawings or pictures and understand how they would look like solid objects with height, width or depth.
Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
Oxyfuel cutting – safely perform the following oxyfuel cutting tasks: straight line and square shapes, piercing and slot cutting.
Communicate and work cooperatively and effectively with all personnel, using good math skills for calculating load requirements.
Understand and complete pre-lift checklists and assist operator with lift plans as needed.
Be proficient in the use of hand signals.
Qualifications
Four (4) years minimum heavy industrial field experience as an Ironworker.
Must have a locking toolbox and tools necessary to perform the job.
Be able to retrieve and demonstrate the proper use of a block using a multiple part line configuration (four part minimum).
Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.
Physical/Site Requirements
Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.
Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
Work at heights with fall protection, work from manlifts, baskets, JLG’s etc.
PPE: footwear, prescription safety glasses or eye shields required.
To be eligible for per diem
Your permanent residence must be at least 60 miles from the site address and you must provide documentation as such.
