Overview
Job Description
The Teller I works in a TD Store location and plays a key role in delivering legendary customer experiences while processing everyday banking transactions with accuracy and efficiency; educating customers on TD's products and services or referring them to a partner for specialized solutions.
Responsibilities
Executes TD's Brand promise to customers by consistently delivering a Legendary Customer experience in the Store.
Performs customer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan and safe deposit box payments efficiently.
Processes cash transactions such as cashing checks, verifying currency, balancing cash drawer, and night deposits with a high level of accuracy.
Responds to and resolves customer inquiries and concerns using standard procedures and escalates to management as necessary.
Engages in lobby leadership by guiding customer flow, warmly welcoming customers, and directing them appropriately.
Understands customer banking preferences and educates customers on self-service/digital options that meet their needs.
Acts as an advocate for the customer by conducting needs-based conversations; offers financial and digital solutions, or refers the customer to an appropriate partner.
Makes sound decisions and provides timely problem resolution, escalating more difficult issues to management.
Ensures compliance with company guidelines and regulations (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act) to minimize risk and protect the customer.
Verifies customers' identities by following authentication policies and procedures.
Balances cash drawers, ATMs, and Teller Cash Dispensers/Recyclers as necessary.
Adheres to safe deposit box procedures and guidelines.
Responsible for cash drawers and vaults, maintaining appropriate cash limits and securing cash at all times.
Ensures confidential customer information is securely stored; understands the importance of dual control.
Follows security and audit measures to minimize potential loss.
Utilizes bank tools and processes to detect, address, and prevent fraud.
Completes all required in-classroom and online training by established due dates.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
6 months work-related experience preferred; or equivalent demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience.
Ability to work during operating hours to include weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled.
Demonstrated customer service skills preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to function in a fast-paced and changing environment.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to be concise, clear, and consistent.
