
Income Tax Accountant/Assoc/Sr/Supervisor

Job Description
The tax accountant is responsible for preparing federal and state income tax returns, quarterly estimated tax payments, monthly tax provisions, and associated supporting work papers for the BHE Pipeline Group companies, including GAAP and FERC accounting.
Responsibilities
Prepare income tax returns for BHE Pipeline Group companies and annual tax return to provision calculations (federal and state income/franchise tax returns).
Prepare monthly income tax provisions, tax account roll‑forward schedules and effective rate reconciliations (i.e., tax accounting) for BHE Pipeline Group companies.
Maintain deferred tax reconciliations.
Prepare the tax information necessary for the accurate completion of quarterly and annual financial statements and perform other tax accounting procedures as necessary.
Prepare quarterly federal and state income tax estimated payments for the BHE Pipeline Group companies.
Prepare / maintain tax calculations for tax forecast, annual budget and 10‑year plan for the BHE Pipeline Group companies.
Provide support for regulatory analyses and filings.
Perform tax research and additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Provide training and support tax accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field.
Two or more years of relevant experience (Associate Tax Accountant).
Four or more years of relevant experience (Tax Accountant).
Five or more years of relevant tax experience (Sr. Tax Accountant).
Six or more years in tax accounting with a certified public accountant designation or a graduate business degree, including one year in a senior technical/leadership role (Income Tax Supervisor).
Strong federal income tax compliance and tax accounting experience.
Effective oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of tax systems and regulatory requirements.
Strong tax research skills.
Background with mergers and acquisitions.
Strong computer software skills and ability to model complex calculations.
Effective analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
