Responsibilities
Execute cross‑platform distribution strategies for CBS News podcasts and video podcasts across audio (RSS), YouTube, social platforms, VOD/OTT services, and podcast apps
Oversee publishing workflows across platforms, ensuring timely release schedules, accurate metadata, asset delivery, and adherence to platform‑specific requirements
Optimize content for discoverability and involvement across platforms, including titles, descriptions, thumbnails, tagging, release timing, and overall packaging
Monitor performance across distribution channels and translate audience and platform data into actionable recommendations to improve reach, growth, and involvement
Liaise with third‑party distribution partners, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Netflix, and other key platforms, to manage asset delivery, content optimization, publishing requirements, and ongoing platform opportunities
Partner with editorial and production teams to align content structure, packaging, and release strategies with audience needs and platform best practices
Work closely with marketing and social teams to support promotional strategies around launches, clips, highlights, and ongoing franchise growth
Coordinate with product, business, and operations teams to support platform integrations, distribution workflows, and partner‑related needs
Help develop and refine standards, workflows, and best practices for podcast and video podcast distribution across CBS News
Serve as an internal resource on podcast and video podcast distribution strategy, platform trends, and emerging best practices
Qualifications
4–6 years of experience in digital media, podcasting, audience development, or content distribution
Strong understanding of the podcast ecosystem, including RSS distribution, podcast platforms, and audience behaviors
Experience working with video content distribution, including YouTube and/or social video platforms
Demonstrated ability to manage content across multiple platforms with strong attention to detail and organization
Experience analyzing performance data and applying insights to improve content strategy
Experience managing or supporting platform partnerships
Background in news, media, or a fast‑paced content environment
Familiarity with CMS, podcast hosting platforms, and video publishing tools
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Additional Information
Hiring Salary Range: $95,000.00 – $110,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job‑related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
