Golf Course Maintenance - Greenskeeper/Landscaper

Summary
The Greenskeeper is responsible for assisting in the general upkeep and maintenance of the golf greens. The Greenskeeper will be involved in the precision mowing of greens, tees, aprons, approaches, fairways, roughs, bunker maintenance, divot repair program, and a variety of golf course maintenance programs, such as aerifying, verticutting, and topdressing. The Greenskeeper will assist in maintaining the AAA Four Diamond standards and strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. The Greenskeeper shall exemplify the Wild Dunes Resort Culture and promote the Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice.

Essential Job Functions

Properly mow greens and tees

Operate tractors, using specific attachments, to till, cultivate, and grade new turf areas

Assist with landscaping; planting, cultivating, pruning, and care of plants, shrubs, and trees on the golf course

Maintain bunker maintenance

Repair divots throughout the course

Rake sand traps

Comply with all Wild Dunes Resort policies, procedures, and safety regulations

Maintain a strong knowledge of emergency procedures

Attend appropriate resort, division, and department meetings

Provide general resort information for guests

Offer a warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests, using their name when possible and maintaining good eye contact

Interact with resort staff professionally, assisting other departments when necessary

Always maintain a professional demeanor and attitude

Communicate all pertinent information to the golf maintenance team

Maintain a professional appearance and follow all dress code standards

Remain alert, courteous, and helpful to guests and colleagues at all times

Colleague is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Experience & Education

High school education or equivalent required

Prior landscaping experience preferred

Prior golf maintenance experience strongly preferred

At least one year of customer service experience preferred

Job Requirements

Must be authorized to work in the United States

Must have a valid driver’s license and meet company driving standards

Must be able to read, write and speak English

Excellent equipment operation skills

Must have good mechanical understanding and ability

Must have excellent leadership skills

Must have a thorough understanding of the game of golf to understand the playability of the course

Must be able to work well under pressure

Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbal and written

Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Must be professional in appearance and demeanor

Must have excellent listening skills

Must always ensure a teamwork environment

Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays

Must be able to deal effectively and interact well with guests and colleagues

Must be able to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner

Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests

Working Conditions

Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, cold, sun & heat)

Must be able to stand & walk throughout the day, including on uneven surfaces

Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull & carry up to 25 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs and very occasionally up to 75 lbs with assistance

Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel & twist on a frequent basis, sometimes for prolonged periods

Must be able to perform simple grasping, squeezing, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently; overhead reaching and fine manipulation occasionally

May occasionally work with pesticides and be exposed to dust
