We are seeking a highly skilled PostgreSQL DBA with strong Data Engineering capabilities to manage, optimize, and scale critical data systems. This role combines deep database administration expertise with modern data pipeline development to support analytics, reporting, and real-time data use cases.
You will be responsible for ensuring database reliability, performance, and security while also designing and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data architectures.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain
PostgreSQL
databases in production environments
Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries
Manage backups, recovery, replication, and high availability setups
Implement database security, access controls, and encryption
Perform upgrades, patching, and capacity planning
Troubleshoot incidents and ensure minimal downtime
Design and build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
Develop data ingestion frameworks for batch and real-time processing
Transform and model data for analytics and reporting
Work with structured and semi-structured data (JSON, Parquet, etc.)
Integrate data from APIs, third-party systems, and internal platforms
Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance
Required Skills & Experience
Database Expertise
5+ years of hands-on experience with
PostgreSQL
Strong knowledge of:
Query optimization and indexing strategies
Performance tuning and vacuum/analyze
Experience with large-scale, high-availability database systems
Strong SQL and data modeling expertise
Experience with ETL/ELT tools and frameworks
Programming experience in Python, Scala, or similar
Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like
Apache Airflow.
