IAT Insurance Group has openings for Underwriting Support Associate Account Managers in our Inland Marine and Commercial Property business unit. The specific title will reflect the experience level of the selected candidate.
Underwriting Support Associate Account Managers provide day-to-day customer service and support to underwriters and act as liaison between the organization and agents to ensure needs are met. The role is hybrid: office Monday through Wednesday, remotely Thursday and Friday.
Responsibilities
Enter schedules into proprietary rating systems.
Establish and maintain good working relationships with underwriters and agents.
Prepare account service–related documents such as proposals and other client communications and correspondence.
Assist in renewal process, reviewing for accuracy and making requested renewal changes.
Document new business declines and non‑renewals.
Summarize loss runs.
Review all company correspondence to ensure applicability to client needs.
Answer and process internal information requests.
Review policies, endorsements, and reports for accuracy and compliance.
Follow up with agencies on policy subjectivities and other missing underwriting information.
Ensure all required documentation and communication is sorted and filed for ease of access.
Retrieve loss cost reports and other property rating reports as needed for underwriter.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must Have
High school graduate or equivalent (associate’s degree preferred).
At least 2 years of relevant insurance experience.
Knowledge of basic mathematics and problem‑solving techniques.
Mastery of PC and keyboarding skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for interaction with all levels of associates and external sources.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
Detail‑oriented and action‑oriented.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced and deadline‑driven production environment.
Ability to organize, set and maintain priorities.
Ability to adapt to change.
Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require visa sponsorship.
Preferred To Have
Underwriting support experience.
