Children’s Pastor & Early Childhood Education Director of Sonshine Children’s Center Reports to the Lead Pastor of The Bridge Church

Job Summary This individual will serve as the spiritual and administrative pastor of Sonshine Children’s Center. The individual must have a heart for ministry as their first priority while possessing the organizational strength and leadership ability required overseeing a licensed childcare center. This dual role combines pastoral leadership with professional center management. Our faith-based program requires the pastor to believe the Bible is the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative written Word of God, thus living a personal and professional life that reflects Biblical and moral principles.

As an employee of The Bridge Church, this individual is expected to attend The Bridge Church. The position will be Sunday through Thursday. The Sunday morning responsibilities will be to support and help Bridge Kids and provide collaborative support to the Children’s Pastor of Bridge Kids Ministry. This position also requires strong communication and relational skills essential for positive client and staff interaction.

We are committed to provide a faith-based program that nurtures and cares for our children in a thriving learning environment. Sonshine uses innovative teaching techniques to prepare children for the next phase of education as they grow and develop.

Spiritual Leadership Responsibilities

Championing the mission and vision of The Bridge Church within the childcare center.

Cultivating a Christ-centered culture where children experience the love of Jesus daily.

Provide spiritual oversight and servant leadership to staff.

Oversee Biblical curriculum within the classrooms and network with the Bridge Church Children’s Ministry to maintain unity between ministries.

Build strong relationships with families; offering encouragement and spiritual support.

Partner closely with church leadership to align ministry efforts.

Administrative & Operational Leadership

Oversee daily operations of the Child Care Center.

Oversee facility cleanliness, maintenance and safety standards.

Manager of employees and Assistant Director, including custodial staff

Administrative record keeping of employee files.

Maintaining Department of Human Services regulations and requirements, including preparing for annual inspections.

Oversee Emergency Response Operations

Handling tuition payments, which include both subsidized funding and private tuition in addition to weekly tuition processing.

Employee scheduling

Lesson Planning & Curriculum Oversight

Marketing and promotion of all aspects of our program with the support of the Bridge Church marketing department.

Processing bi-weekly payroll.

Oversee spending costs and assist with budgeting in coordination with church leadership.

Maintain clean and professional communication with parents.

Must be present at the facility site a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Coordinating and planning daily activities with the Group Supervisors or with the assistant group supervisors in school-age program.

Overall program planning.

Qualifications and Skills Education and Credentials: A.A. or Bachelor Level Degree in Human Services or Education Preferred. Degree must be compliant with the 3270.34 Director Qualifications and Responsibilities.

Experience: Managerial and pastoral experience preferred, as well as strong administrative skills.
