Overview
Technical Designer II to join our Asset Strategy / Industrial Practice. The Technical Designer II is responsible for basic project construction documentation, while working with project team to assist overall effort of completing various project phases. The Technical Designer provides support primarily in project administration, design development, and drawing production in all phases. This is a hybrid position and requires working in-person and site visits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in the mapping out construction document requirements.
Assist with selection and specification.
Create basic details ability to document common architectural systems.
Identify code requirements for common architectural systems, life safety, and ADA.
Complete small construction document sets using predetermined client standards and templates.
Basic knowledge of project budget and schedules and responsibility to adhere to set parameters.
Ability to work more independently on smaller projects and with supervision on larger more complex projects.
Assist other team members while conducting field surveys, as required.
Participate in the design process as directed.
Provide material, product, and system research and compile project data.
Assist in the preparation of construction documents and specifications.
Order samples and create material boards.
Update design documents and incorporate “red lines” as needed.
Prepare Addenda and Bulletin documentation.
Maintain and update rack sets and projects records.
Plot/Prepare drawings for digital transmittance to consultants, clients and/or contractor.
Log Shop Drawings and assist in Shop Drawing comment translation.
Review your own work and make corrections, prior completing an assignment.
Maintain and archive electronic project files.
Provide project administrative back-up (make copies, scanning documents, prepare packages for shipping, etc.) as required.
Assist in the programming phases as directed.
Assist with the schematic phases as directed (sketching, input of sketches, modification of schematic test fit plans, etc.).
Required Knowledge And Skills
Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and processes involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
Basic knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, materials application and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness
Knowledge of the construction process as it relates to the drawings being produced
Understanding of building regulations, life safety codes, and ADA requirements
Understanding of project budgets and schedules
Ability to prioritize and effectively meet deadlines and provide high quality service to clients
Knowledge of expectations related to high quality service to clients
Ability to hand draw and sketch
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Proficiency in AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop
Proficiency in Revit
Proficiency in Deltek Vision / Vantagepoint
Basic knowledge in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook; PowerPoint a plus
Knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines
Basic proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign graphic software preferred
Basic proficiency in 3D Modeling software such as 3D Studio Max and Viz 2006 preferred
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in: Architecture, Architectural Drafting, or related field
3+ years of relevant industry experience
Highly proficient in both Revit and AutoCAD
Familiarity with Photoshop and/or InDesign preferred
Must be deadline-oriented
Strong attention to detail
National salary range (compensation factors are based upon years of relevant experience, qualifications/licensure, education, location, etc.): $60,000 – $85,000. Additional compensation includes bonuses and benefits. Bonuses can include but are not limited to: Long Term Incentive Plan, Short Term Incentive Plan, Profit Sharing
