Youth Development Center Director
to lead our
before- and after-school
child care program at the
Midlothian Family YMCA .

What You’ll Do As the Youth Development Center Director, you’ll play a vital role in shaping high‑quality programming and building strong relationships with children, families, staff, and school partners. Your responsibilities will include:
Designing, planning, and implementing
engaging, age‑appropriate developmental programs
Overseeing
day‑to‑day operations
of the child care center
Supervising and mentoring
on‑site staff
Creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for school‑age children
Building strong relationships with children and families and serving as a key point of communication
Collaborating with school officials and YMCA leadership
Ensuring compliance with
Virginia DOE licensing requirements
and YMCA quality standards
Managing site safety, equipment, and facilities
Attending and leading required
child care trainings
Supporting program administration, budgeting, and staffing needs
What You Bring We’re looking for a confident, compassionate leader who is ready to make a difference. Ideal candidates will have:
Experience supervising staff and supporting program operations
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Experience leading groups of youth
A positive, enthusiastic leadership style
A valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Virginia DOE licensing qualifications
(college‑level coursework in a related field or CDA required)
Must be
at least 21 years old
