
CAPS Customer Service Rep (Student Position)

Position Summary
In this position you will answer phone, email, and check in people as they arrive at the CAPS office. You will also help advertise office events and assist with daily tasks.
Responsibilities
Greet and assist all customers via phone, virtual, email, or in-person at the CAPS front desk.
Clean office areas and photobooth.
Respond to CAPS department emails.
Approve volunteer service hours and post volunteer opportunities.
Approve Handshake employers, jobs, and events.
Participate in regular staff meetings.
Advertise CAPS events.
Assist the CAPS Assistant with day‑to‑day tasks such as handling mail and making purchases.
Provide feedback and suggestions for innovative changes to improve customer service.
Plan, implement, and evaluate programming, including room reservations, catering, advertising, event set‑up, staffing, volunteer coordination, supply purchases, and cash handling. Event setup may involve transporting university property in a personal vehicle.
Qualifications
Compassion and interest in working with students, faculty, staff, and employers.
Some understanding of Ferris structures and resources.
Excellent customer service skills.
Some technology proficiency with Microsoft products and Canva.
Minimum 2.5 GPA.
Will undergo a criminal history background check and driving record check as required for university use of vehicle.
