Responsibilities
Createsconstructionandfabricationdrawingsinaccordancewithcompanystandardsanddesign engineer'sdirectionsandspecifications
Developsandmaintainsengineeredblocksandstandarddetailsforpileguides,tri-frames,gangways,anddynamicdocklayoutblocksthatcanbeutilizedacrossalldivisions
Createsandmaintainsacomprehensivecatalogofstandardizedcomponentstoeliminaterepetitive designworkandensureconsistencyacrossprojects
Maintainsengineeringoversightofstructuralcomponentswhilecoordinatingwithdivisionson productionreleasedrawingsforconcrete,foam,andwoodelements
TakestheleadonSolidWorksmodelingprojectsincludingshopdrawingsforweldments,conceptual designs,andengineeringplans
CreatesandmaintainsdynamicblocksinAutoCADtoimproveefficiencyandstandardization
Workscollaborativelywithalldivisionstomaintain,update,andimprovecompanydraftingstandards andbestpractices
Utilizesknowledgeofvariousmachines,engineeringpractices,mathematics,buildingmaterials,and otherphysicalsciencestocompletedrawings
Makesanyadjustmentsorchangesnecessaryasdirected
Preparesflotationcalculationsforeachfloatmoduleinadocksystem
Createsfabricationdetailsusingtheflotationcalculationstoensurethateachfloatmodulewill
attainthedesignedfreeboard
Compilesandmaintainsbothpaperandelectronicfilesonallprojectsforhistoricalrecordsofall drawingscompleted
Consultswithandassistsdepartmentsindeterminingneedsanddevelopingspecificationsforgoods andservices
Establishesandmaintainscontactwithvendorsandnegotiateswiththemtoobtainthebestand mostcost-effectivegoodsandservices
Requirements
Associates degree in CAD/Drafting Technology, Engineering or related field or 2-4 years related experience. Professional experience with both AutoCAD and SolidWorks is required. Previous background in marine construction, structural design, or manufacturing environment is highly desired.
