RoamRecs is an early-stage, pre-seed funded startup, building the future of travel discovery. Today, the best recommendations live across TikTok, Instagram, and group chats – and get lost when you actually need them. RoamRecs turns that scattered content into organized, shareable collections, while creating a new platform for creators to showcase and monetize their recommendations.
We launched in early 2026 and already have ~3,000 users through purely organic means with zero marketing spend.
About the Role
We’re looking for a highly motivated college student to work directly with the founders.
This is not a traditional internship. You’ll be working across growth, content, and product – helping us scale a consumer platform at the intersection of social media, travel, and creator monetization.
If you’re someone who loves startups, TikTok/Instagram content, and wants real ownership (not busy work), then this is for you!
What You’ll Do
Growth & Marketing
Help drive user growth across Instagram, TikTok, and emerging channels
Research and identify high-performing content trends (what people are saving, sharing, and engaging with)
Test new growth ideas (content formats, outreach strategies, partnerships) and iterate quickly
Analyze what’s working vs. not and help refine our strategy
Creator Partnerships
Identify and source high-quality creators (TikTok / Instagram / travel niches)
Conduct outreach and onboard creators onto RoamRecs
Help build and refine our creator acquisition playbook
Work directly with early creators to shape how they use the platform
Work directly with the founders on new ideas, features, and experiments
Provide feedback on product, UX, and overall user experience
Help test new features and identify bugs or friction points
Contribute to early-stage strategy as we scale
Who We’re Looking For
Strong interest in startups, social media, or travel
Extremely proactive – you don’t wait to be told what to do
Creative and plugged into TikTok / Instagram trends
Organized and detail-oriented
Time commitment is 30 – 40 hours / week during your summer break
What You’ll Get
Work directly with the founders (high exposure, real mentorship). Both founders are former investment bankers and interim executives (CFO & CRO) of middle market companies
Real ownership and impact — your work will actually be used
Hands-on experience building a startup from the ground up
Opportunity to work with creators and grow a consumer platform
Strong resume experience + references
$1K / month stipend
Potential for full-time role and equity upon graduation
