Summary The Woodworking Specialist will be responsible for the precise cutting, shaping, assembly, and finishing of wood components used in the manufacturing of cabinet doors. This role requires a high level of skill with specialized woodworking machinery, an acute attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining quality standards throughout the production process.

Responsibilities Production and Fabrication

Operate and maintain a variety of woodworking machinery, including but not limited to, saws (table, miter, panel), routers, shapers, sanders, and specialized CNC equipment used for cutting and profiling cabinet door components.

Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders to determine specifications, materials required, and production sequences.

Accurately measure, cut, and shape wood materials (MDF, various hardwoods and softwoods) according to precise dimensions and tolerances.

Perform intricate assembly tasks, ensuring components are correctly joined, aligned, and secured for structural integrity.

Conduct initial quality checks on fabricated parts to identify and correct defects before moving to the next stage.

Quality Control and Maintenance

Inspect finished products for flaws, defects, or deviations from quality standards and company specifications.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and company guidelines.

Perform routine preventative maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Assist in troubleshooting machinery issues and recommending corrective actions.

Inventory and Process Improvement

Monitor material usage and report inventory needs to the supervisor to prevent production delays.

Collaborate with the production team and supervisors to identify bottlenecks and suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Qualifications Required Skills and Experience

Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in woodworking, carpentry, cabinet making, or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Proven proficiency in operating standard woodworking machinery (saws, routers, shapers).

Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Demonstrated understanding of wood properties, joinery techniques, and finishing processes.

Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Ability to perform physical work, including lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:

Remain in a stationary position for extended periods.

Move about the factory floor to access machinery, materials, and product storage.

Transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Operate, activate, and use production machinery and hand tools that require repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers.

Detect and inspect parts for quality control at close vision (less than 20 inches) and assess safety hazards from a distance (20 feet or more).

The employee will be exposed to a manufacturing environment where the noise level can be loud and will work around moving mechanical parts. Regular exposure to airborne particles and temperature fluctuations should be expected. The use of appropriate PPE is required.
